Transparency in Coverage Machine Readable Files

Pursuant to the Transparency in Coverage regulations under the Consolidated Appropriations Act, effective July 1, 2022, Spire’s health benefit providers, Anthem and BlueCross BlueShield of Alabama, will maintain the following links to machine readable files (MRFs) containing the negotiated rates for in-network providers and allowed amounts from historical claims for out-of-network providers:

Anthem. To access the Anthem files, once you click the link, please enter the Spire Employee Identification Number: 47-4582725.

BlueCross BlueShield of Alabama. To access the BlueCross BlueShield of Alabama files, once you click the link, please enter the Spire Employee Identification Number: 47-4582725.

MRFs are digital representations of data or information in files that can be imported or read by a computer system. These files follow the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) defined layout and are in the CMS-approved format (.JSON) and are not meant for a consumer-friendly search of rates, benefits, or cost sharing. Please refer to the member resources available through the provider websites for this information.

In addition, please note that these publicly available files are very large and may exceed internal limits for your network. If you are a Spire employee, please do not attempt to download information from an MRF while on the company network.
