Spire is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer II  to work in our Birmingham, AL operation. Here is what a successful candidate will possess:

  • Investigate Cybersecurity alerts and respond to trouble tickets to resolve various technology issues securely and sufficiently.
  • Keep up to date with the latest security and technology developments.
  • Research, evaluate emerging cyber security threats and options to remediate threats.
  • Provides analysis for all Oracle and SAP compliance controls that support corporate policies and participates in Sarbanes-Oxley(SOX) processes and procedures.
  • Foresees possible compliance impacts and understands the procedures associated with introducing new technologies and processes.
  • Understanding of Oracle and SAP databases for security, performance and performance-tuning actions using Oracle/SAP Utilities
  • Work with DB analyst to recommend, review and implement security releases of the Oracle/SAP DB product

Detailed Description

  • Ensure events are properly documented for compliance and cybersecurity stakeholders.
  • Responsible for providing analysis of IT risk processes including, but not limited to Segregation of Duties (SOD) reviews, control reviews, identifying and resolves any compliance concerns.
  • Conducts pre-production testing and reviews of proposed security changes to ensure all changes comply with controls.
  • Develops and maintains the process for access compliance provisioning, security roles, profiles, and authorizations.
  • Oversees identification and reporting of potential impacts of problems, issues and/or events on business processes.
  • Creates and updates status and tracking documentation (e.g., progress reports, updates status requests, and issues resolution lists).
  • Conducts pre-production testing and reviews of proposed security changes to ensure all changes comply with IT Security controls.
  • Responsible for the security architecture for all Oracle and SAP Applications in Financial Accounting and Controlling, Plaint Maintenance/Project System, Materials Management, Human Resources, Customer Care Services/Utilities, Customer Relationship Management, Governance Risk Compliance, Business Warehouse, Redwood, Solution Manager and Business Objects environments.
  • Leads the development and is responsible for Oracle and SAP security procedures at designated location.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, and/or equivalent experience in Information Systems.
  • Requires knowledge of Oracle and SAP, security design and general operating system and application security administration.
  • Requires thorough knowledge of Oracle DB structures with fundamental knowledge of SAP DB
  • Security+, CISSP, SAP or equivalent certification/degree.
  • Identity & Access Management: role mining, access governance, access certification, technologies (Oracle Access Manager, Azure, SAP Identity Management, Microsoft Active Directory).
  • Compliance (5 years): Sarbanes-Oxley(SOX).
  • Governance (3 years): information security policy and control design, reporting, business alignment, standards (ISO 2700x, NIST 800, COSO).
  • Security (5 years): General understanding of Information Technology, such as TCP/IP fundamentals, Web protocols (HTTPS), modifying system parameters, understanding network security, risk and threat prevention.

Physical Demands and /or Work Environment:

  • Normal Work Environment - Work is normally performed in a shared office environment.
  • 8am - 5pm and some travel maybe required.
