This position is responsible for assistance of any Treasury Department function.

Primary duties:

  • Provide bank balances for each bank and prepare a “Daily Consolidated Cash Report” after calculating final business for the previous day
  • Calculate expected receipts and disbursements for the current day to determine how much money needs to be borrowed or invested
  • Record commercial paper transactions in various reports and inform the proper departments of the transaction, as well as keeping a running tally of outstanding commercial paper
  • Provide approvals for wire funds and ACHs, and record transactions on a daily report
  • Record all check numbers for disbursements by General Accounting each day and provide a secondary signature when necessary; forward said check numbers to Internal Audit
  • Monitor and reconcile bank accounts and flow of funds.
  • Financial analysis and modeling
  • Assist in interaction with credit and capital markets
  • Compile other statistics and reports, as requested
  • Review credit risk for commercial customers and trading partners of utility subsidiaries and non-regulated subsidiaries of Spire Inc.
  • Work with subsidiaries to structure agreements to include appropriate credit provisions
  • Provide analytical reports for management and quarterly financial statements
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Good working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Conversant with financial statement analysis, ratio analysis and other methods of evaluating credit risk for individual companies or a portfolio
  • Familiarity with Oracle, SAP, Monaco and/or other Energy Trading Risk Management system a plus
  • Familiarity with the energy business a plus

Education and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Finance, Business, Accounting, or related field
  • Three years of similar experience
