Summary

Spire is seeking an Forensics Engineer III
•Responsible for conducting root cause analysis through the correlation of log sources to identify threat indicators utilizing SIEM, firewall, IDS/IPS, etc. alerts
•Develop executive level summaries of existing and potential security threats 
•Act as liaison with local and federal law enforcement, if applicable, on cyber related investigations. 
•Identify threats to our organization, perform security threat impact assessments and prepare assessment reports to be presented to leadership.
•Create and review new/existing security policies aligned with business needs and effectively implement across the organization. 
 

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Participate in regular status meetings and provide training to other team members as needed. 
  • Manage imaging, data extraction and forensic preservation of data across various solutions such as computers, external memory, and mobile devices in support of transition, eDiscovery and investigations
  • Process minded individual with the ability to lead and coordinate table top exercises and external penetration tests 
  • Develop SOP/Playbook in support of company goals on forensics, legal/court readiness
  • Understand structured digital evidence collection and evaluation
  • Extensive use and development of digital forensics tools including, but not limited to, OpenText, EnCase Forensics, NUIX Investigator, AccessData FTK, and others
  • Lead and coordinate incident response and forensics efforts associated with security incident handling, up to and including post-breach impact/loss assessments
     
Essential Characteristics and Competencies
  • Ability to demonstrate and master the core and job category competencies

  • Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to establish rapport with a diverse array of people
     
Required Education (certifications, licenses)

•A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, and/or equivalent experience in Information Systems
•GFCE, CEH, CISSP, CCNA certifications preferred
 

Required knowledge, skill and abilities

•Strong analytical capabilities, demonstrated knowledge and understanding of security technologies, including scripting experience. 
•Solid understanding of business organization and security best practices. 
•5 yeras of Security focused experience in analyzing 2 ore more areas of Windows, Linux, proprietary firmware, 32/64-bit ARM chipsets, VMware and SCADA.
•In-depth understanding of metadata extractions and analysis
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills
 

Physical demands, environment and schedule
  • Normal Work Environment - Work is normally performed in a shared office environment.
  • 40 hours, 8am - 5pm and some travel maybe required.
