Summary

Spire is seeking to fill a Data Engineer III position. This role is a primary contributor and designer of the overall Spire data warehouse, data ETL processes and analytics data model and architecture. This role is also responsible for the delivery of insight through data and analytics support throughout the Spire organization. 
Additionally, this role will be responsible for the implementation of data governance strategies and data quality standards to ensure data related projects and analytical products deliver high data quality, expected data pipeline services, and overall analytical support to end-users.

Duties and Responsibilities

•    Implement and maintain business intelligence and analytics tools (OBIEE, Tableau, Alteryx, PowerBI)
•    Develop, deploy, and maintain financial and operational analytics, BI reports and dashboards
•    Perform detailed analysis, design, and development of the logical and physical data models for data storage and warehousing 
•    Work with business users to translate functional requirements into technical specifications for Analytical and Report development
•    Collaborate with Advanced Analytics team to help architect and develop, operational datastores, data marts and extracts used in Tableau and PowerBI visualizations based on functional requirements from various business units
•    Identify data requirements and understand data models from Spire Enterprise Applications
•    Build ELT processes to deliver data from source applications to target warehouse environments through Oracle Data Integrator interfaces and Azure Data Pipelines
•    Analyze performance statistics and performs required tuning activities in conjunction with system, software, and data applications, Data Stewards, and other ITS teams, to understand functionality, scalability, performance, security, and integration requirements for translation into a functional system.
•    Perform detailed analysis, design and development of the logical and physical data models
•    Work with stakeholders including data, design, application product and business teams and assisting them with data-related technical and infrastructure issues
•    Provide best practice knowledge to support optimal design and operation of all Azure Data related services
•    Identify best practices for cloud services monitoring and management and promoting these best practices across Spire
•    Monitor and maintain data pipelines proactively to ensure high service availability.
•    Provide best practice knowledge to support optimal design and operation of all Data and Analytical related services
•    Identify best practices for data services monitoring and management and promote these best practices across Spire
•    Work with Enterprise Architecture team to ensure data governance policies and data quality standards are implemented in enterprise warehouse data models
•    Collaborate with Data Scientists and other Data Engineers to understand ML models data requirements and optimize related data solutions accordingly
•    Monitor and maintain data interfaces, loads and pipelines to proactively to ensure high service availability.
•    Collaborate with IT Infrastructure teams to ensure service level adherence for data loading and information delivery services
•    Works in conjunction with the Advanced Analytics Team 
•    All other duties as assigned

Required Education (certifications, licenses)

•    Bachelor's degree and / or approximately 10+ years of related work experience; or a graduate degree and approximately 10+ years of related work experience

Required knowledge, skill and abilities

•    Has working knowledge or Oracle database technology and supporting applications
•    Preferably 10+ years of BI Business/Data Analysis development experience
•    Expert experience with PL/SQL programming
•    Preferably 10+ years of Oracle ODI ETL/ELT, 
•    Preferbly 10+ years with Cloud Data Infrastructure, ETL, Data Pipelines, Data Lakes, Data Warehousing, Event and Streaming Data Workflows, Modern Database Technologies Developing data ingestion, Data processing and Analytical Pipelines for big data, relational and graph databases, data warehouse and analytics solutionsAzure  Data Factory Pipeline (or similar) experience
•    Extensive hands-on experience implementing data migration, data processing and analytics using Azure services.
•    Extensive experience leveraging the following technologies: Azure Datalake, MS Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Synapse/DW, Azure SQL DB, Event Hub, IOT Hub, Azure Stream Analytics, Azure Analysis Service, Purview Data Catalog, ML Studio, AI/ML, Databricks, Delta Lake, Azure Cosmos DB, NoSQL, SQL, Python, Spark, Power BI, Tableau, Azure Events, Azure Apps
•    Experience with Azure Devops and CI/CD tools and deployments within an Azure environment (Jenkins, Git, Azure etc.)

•    Experience working within Agile development methodologies and DevOps development lifecycles
