Summary
This position will be responsible for supporting accurate and timely financial reporting through journal entries, account reconciliations, fixed asset and project accounting, and regulatory reporting. This role plays a key part in the monthly close process, supports audit and regulatory requirements, and partners cross‑functionally to ensure data quality and process efficiency.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Prepare, review, and post journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation
- Prepare account analyses and reconciliations; investigate and resolve variances
- Coordinate with other departments to analyze and review various inputs to the monthly close process to confirm quality and accuracy of the process
- Create capital projects and review projects created by other departments
- Perform monthly fixed asset and project accounting, including AFUDC processing, depreciation, and additions, retirements, transfers, and other fixed asset transactions
- Ensure proper capitalization in accordance with company policy, U.S. GAAP, and regulatory requirements
- Assist with preparation and review of monthly and annual reports for the Public Service Commission
- Provide data and supporting schedules for FERC Form 2 and other regulatory filings
- Support internal and external audit requests
- Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements
- Complete special projects and ad hoc requests as assigned

Required Education (certifications, licenses)
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or similar degree, required.
- CPA desired or working toward CPA certification.
Required knowledge, skill and abilities
- At least 3 years’ relevant experience required.
- Experience with FERC and utility regulatory accounting strongly preferred.
- Strong, detailed knowledge of US GAAP, required.
- Advanced skills and experience with Microsoft Excel required.
- Experience working in large scale ERP systems such as Oracle, Oracle HFM experience strongly preferred.
Physical demands, environment and schedule
- Shared, open-office environment
- Standard business hours, Monday through Friday; overtime may be required during close periods
- Occasional travel may be required
- Hybrid schedule
