Spire is seeking a Supervisor, Service to work in our Auburn, Alabama operation

Primary duties:

  • Have a working knowledge of various work management tools used in the Service Department
  • Ensure that the workload is distributed fairly and appropriately in accordance with the nature of the work to be completed and possess the ability to move work around as needed
  • Monitor service department vehicles using Roadside GPS equipment and software. Display the ability to view and analyze the data provided by the Roadside system
  • Be able to compare Roadside Systems trip activities to service technician’s time tickets for anomalies and discrepancies
  • Maintain communication with employees by being accessible to them throughout the day and provide direction on general questions or technical issues
  • Validate both electronic and on paperwork is prepared properly in compliance with Sarbanes Oxley requirements, by employees and directed to the proper channels
  • Perform load surveys, service work estimates, and scheduling for customers
  • Maintain contact with the customer service representatives to alert them of any delays or mishaps that occur throughout the day necessitating the need to reschedule planned work
  • Confirm that all contract employees are well educated on any new techniques that may assist them in their work
  • Coordinate CGI equipment distribution, calibration, and repair scheduling
  • Communicate with management to keep them informed of departmental operations
  • Redirect the workload periodically throughout the course of the day due to situations that arise to maximize efficiency and minimize overtime
  • Consult with customers to clarify or rectify any specific problems
  • Work with Meter Reading personnel to insure routes are assigned and read in accordance with the Meter Reading schedule as well as atmospheric corrosion surveys are performed within the assigned timeframe
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Requires a thorough knowledge of company policies and procedures as they apply to all Company operating departments
  • Must be familiar with the rules and regulations of the Alabama Public Service Commission
  • Requires thorough knowledge of union contracts
  • Requires an understanding of computers, company software and telephone systems
  • Requires a basic understanding of the principles of personnel management, union contracts and organizational dynamics
  • Requires an understanding of appliance repair techniques and a basic understanding of gas burning appliances
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the proven ability to build and establish rapport
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet individual goals and deadlines

Education and experience:

  • High school diploma/GED

Certificates, licenses, registrations:

  • Alabama driver’s license

Work environment:

  • A mix of normal office conditions and outdoors exposed to all weather conditions.
  • Work is normally performed in a shared office environment.
  • Some outside or field work required.
  • Overtime and/or travel may be required.
