Summary

This position is responsible for installing and maintaining SCADA telemetry systems, voice radio equipment and other electronic, pneumatic and mechanical equipment used throughout the company.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and maintain different types of telemetry control systems.
  • Installs, calibrates, configures, maintains all types of telemetry radio and wireless router equipment.
  • Installs, configures, maintains all types of telemetry field computers (RTU & DCU).
  • Installs, calibrates and maintains pressure and differential pressure transducers.
  • Installs, calibrates and maintains other telemetry devices.
  • Responsible for maintaining pulsing equipment used for large meters.
  • Responsible for maintenance of gas detection instruments (GMI), pipe locators, flame packs, and other test instruments.
  • Installs configures and maintains mobile radios, base/repeater stations, and other voice radio equipment.
  • Versed with Motorola MOTOTRBO line of radios.

Essential Characteristics and Competencies

  • Ability to diagnose and maintain different types of radio equipment.
  • Familiar with Bristol/Emerson telemetry equipment.
  • Familiar with Motorola MOTOTRBO digital radios and repeaters.
  • Requires a basic understanding of gas distribution and logical processing in order to diagnose problems with pressure and flow control systems.
  • Requires previous training in analog and digital telemetry, industrial electronics, and gas measurement and control.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Required Education (certifications, licenses)

  • Associates Degree in Electronics or related field or 4 years relevant job experience
  • Basic knowledge of personal computers with appropriate software
  • Basic IP networking knowledge
  • Candidates should provide a list of relevant certifications and degrees earned.

Required knowledge, skill and abilities

  • Valid driver's license

Physical demands, environment and schedule

  • Shared office environment and field (Ongoing exposure to the elements and rough off-road terrain may occur.)
  • Typically, 7:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday
  • Overtime and/or travel will occasionally be required.
