Summary

The Gas Operations Intern will be responsible for providing support to the Manager, Gas Control in the LNG and Telecommunications groups.  The intern will be responsible for completing projects to improve operations in these groups and may also participate in some day-to-day tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform including, but not limited to, creating Access databases, Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, AutoCAD drawings, and GIS work.
  • Assist with audits and updates of the LNG facility procedures to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and Company Standards.
  • Gain and apply knowledge of all applicable DOT/PHMSA, NFPA, and OSHA regulations as they impact LNG procedures
  • Participate in projects involving the replacement of various equipment at the LNG facilities.
  • Gather and compile data regarding current telecommunications locations and equipment.
  • Prepare standard installation drawings and material lists.
  • Create or update instrumentation schematics and communications network diagrams
  • Communicate project status and results to staff and management
  • Prepare and/or use documents, spreadsheets, databases, drawings, and other software applications in the daily course of the job.

Required Education (certifications, licenses)

  • High school education or equivalent.
  • Must be a current full-time student that will be a Junior, Senior, or Graduate student in the fall of 2023
  • Cumulative GPA 3.0 or above
  • Pursuing a degree in construction management, engineering, or relevant degree.

Required knowledge, skill and abilities

  • Must have at least 1 year of general work experience.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency required with most positions.

  • Knowledge of basic engineering principles coupled with the ability to apply as needed
  • Proficiency using MSO (Excel, PowerPoint and Word) required, Microsoft Access preferred
  • Ability to use or learn to use various software, including AutoCAD, Maximo, and GIS
  • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to follow directions, work independently and multitask effectively

Physical demands, environment and schedule

  • Typically, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday
  • Some additional time beyond normal work hours is sometime required to meet target timeframes for completing special projects or studies
