Summary

This position is responsible for design, fabrication, installation, calibration and maintaining SCADA telemetry systems, EGM equipment, voice radio equipment and other electronic, pneumatic and mechanical equipment used throughout the company.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and maintain different types of telemetry control systems.
  • Install, configure, calibrate, maintain EGM equipment for natural gas meter sets
  • Installs, calibrates, configures, maintains all types of telemetry radio and wireless router equipment.
  • Installs, configures, maintains all types of telemetry field computers (RTU & DCU).
  • Installs, calibrates and maintains pressure and differential pressure transmitters.
  • Installs, calibrates and maintains other telemetry devices.
  • Installs, configures and maintains mobile radios, base/repeater stations and other voice radio equipment.
  • Configure and maintain electronics & communication used in odorization systems.
  • Configure and maintain electronic chart recorders

Required Education (certifications, licenses)

  • Associates degree in Electronics Technology, Engineering Technology, or related degree OR minimum 4 years’ relevant job experience
  • Ability to obtain a Class E Chauffeur’s driver's license and ability to drive safely. 

Required knowledge, skill and abilities

  • Ability to diagnose/troubleshoot electronic equipment
  • Ability to read mechanical or electrical blueprints and sketches
  • Requires understanding of Microsoft Office and multiple software applications related to electronic equipment
  • Basic knowledge of personal computers with appropriate software
  • Basic IP networking knowledge
  • Familiar with communication equipment, regulators and control valves, PLCs and RTUs, radios/repeaters, calibration/test equipment, electronic and pneumatic test equipment
  • Requires a basic understanding of gas pressure and flow control systems
  • Requires previous training in industrial electronics, and gas measurement and control
     

Physical demands, environment and schedule

  • Shared office environment and field (Ongoing exposure to the elements and rough off-road terrain may occur.)
  • Typically, 7:00 am to 4:00: pm Monday through Friday
  • Overtime and/or travel will occasionally be required.
  • On-duty rotation related to Instrumentation & Control job duties
