Summary
Spire is seeking an Operations & Financial Support. The position serves as an impartial partner with the core business by providing financial and analytical support to advance operational performance. Position is responsible for supporting the analytical and reporting needs of Distribution Operations / Corporate functions including budgeting, forecasting, financial /non-financial analytics, the development and monitoring of new operational metrics, and assisting in other special projects related to utility operations.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Participate in the annual budgeting and monthly forecast process for assigned departments
- Participate in the monthly variance reporting and explanations for assigned departments
- Assist with the facilitation of monthly review meetings with leadership from assigned departments
- Participate in the development and maintenance of financial and operational reports and dashboards utilizing enterprise wide applications for various levels of leadership
- Facilitate development and maintenance of operational and productivity key performance indicators / metrics for various levels of leadership
- Create financial models and business cases for major projects / regulatory filings (ISRS, Rate Case, etc.) / negotiations (labor agreements, vendors)
- Support enterprise wide system / process improvement efforts
- Work in coordination with other departments (Business Support, Workload Planning, Financial Planning & Analysis, and Information Technology Services) on continuous improvement projects
- Assist in the training and change management efforts of the department related to enhancements to systems, process, metrics, and/or reporting
- Other duties as assigned
Essential Characteristics and Competencies
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, with advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint preferred

Supervisory Responsibilities
- None
Required Education (certifications, licenses)
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or related field of study
Required knowledge, skill and abilities
- 2 to 5 years in analytical role related to budgeting, forecasting, analytics, and reporting
- Previous experience within the regulated utility sector preferred
- Previous experience with enterprise wide applications (Oracle, Hyperion, Maximo) preferred
Physical demands, environment and schedule
- Hybrid Work Schedule – Work is normally performed in a shared office environment.
- Work schedule is typically Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm with occasional periods requiring extended time
- Overtime and/or travel may be required
