Our IT department has the energizing spirit of a startup IT environment with the stability of a long standing highly successful energy company. We are working on some progressive and fun projects over the next 2-3 years that are designed to enhance the customer experience!  Some of the responsibilities are planning, designing, and implementing projects to improve service and support to end-users and improve internal processes and procedures for network administration.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain the organization’s LAN, WAN and wireless devices
  • Design enterprise level routing / switching
  • Configure and maintain hardware load balancers
  • Recommend solutions to enhance network performance
  • Schedule regular maintenance for the application of security patches and IOS upgrades for network devices and software
  • Work with communications vendor, if necessary, for budgetary pricing and purchases of data circuits and network devices
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts to the resolution of network problems
  • Monitor network traffic via approved software
  • Provide weekly reports to the Network Services Manager on the health of the network
  • Work with Information Security on secured configurations and policies for network devices
  • Ensure procedures are followed as it pertains to Sarbanes-Oxley and update procedures as necessary
  • Mitigate risks associated with vulnerability assessments initiated by Information Security
  • Mentor and instruct other network engineers
  • Review and develop procedures and document resolutions
  • Establish detailed procedures for training and reference
  • Keep network diagrams current
  • Participate in On-call rotation
  • All other duties as assigned

Essential Characteristics and Competencies

  • Strong Ethics and Integrity, customer focus, results-driven, teamwork, communications, adaptability, quality, initiative, problem solving and analysis.

Required Education (certifications, licenses)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems, a related discipline or equivalent experience

Required knowledge, skill and abilities

  • 5 + years’ experience in enterprise level wireless networking
  • 5 + years’ experience in advanced routing and switching
  • 5 + years’ experience with hardware load balancers
  • CCNA or equivalent experience is required
  • CCNP or CCIE a plus
  • F5-CA or F5-CTS a plus
  • ITIL certification a plus
