Spire is seeking a Lead of Fleet Systems to work at either our St Louis, Missouri or Birmingham, Alabama location.  The position will be responsible for optimizing and maintaining Spire’s fleet-related systems, such as our Fleet Management Information System (FMIS, currently AssetWorks M5) and GPS (currently Roadside). The individual will be responsible for overall systems functionality to meet operating requirements by working with a variety of stakeholders, including vendors, business users, and IT support.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and create new functionality in our Fleet Management Systems (AssetWorks M5 and Roadside)
  • Collaborate with Fleet and Business users to understand needs and develop functionality within fleet systems
  • Serve as technical expert in related matters to FMIS, GPS, and other fleet systems
  • Work to improve and maintain knowledge base as it relates to fleet operations and assets, to better develop Fleet Management Systems
  • Develop and maintain user access to FMIS data by leading the efforts to build and maintain start centers, dashboards, and system queries
  • Aid in the creation and maintenance of key performance indicators and metrics, using the Fleet Management Systems, to aid company management in decision-making to support corporate goals
  • Create models and business cases for major projects with fleet operations and procurement
  • Provide oversight of data consistency across all regions of Spire
  • Focus on development and maintenance of technical specifications, system coding, warranty and recall campaigns, labor coding & tracking, and material system tracking
  • Develop and provide training and change management of fleet systems
  • Partner with the Fleet and Spire ITS teams to plan and execute system upgrades and program development, to include facilitation and coordination of regression testing and script development
  • Investigate opportunities for integration of Spire systems to increase accuracy of data and reduce manual data entry time. Some examples include integrating the FMIS information with ADP (Spire’s timecard system) and automating imports of fuel card data into FMIS.
  • All other duties as assigned

Required Education (certifications, licenses)

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, information technology or related area of study, required
  • Valid driver’s license required

Required knowledge, skill and abilities

  • Three years of experience in administration of a Fleet Management System, required
  • Familiar with the automotive fleet maintenance or repair industry
  • Microsoft Office Suite required
  • General knowledge of vehicles and equipment is preferred

Physical demands, environment and schedule

  • Requires Normal Physical Stamina – Works in office, garage and field environments
  • Normal 40 Hour work week
  • Participation in on-call rotation is required, which includes off hours and weekends
  • Travel up to 30% may be required
