This position will assist in developing and implementing research initiatives, integrating behavioral science into the research processes and collaborating to formulate strategic recommendations that will drive the business forward. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and implementation of the annual marketing research strategy for Spire, aggregating market intelligence to drive relevant marketing and messaging efforts 
  • Analyze customer data to help understand complex customer challenges and generate new areas of inquiry and opportunity 
  • Cross functionally collaborate to plan and execute consumer and market research projects with various methodologies
  • Generate consumer and market insights and tie these insights to actionable business recommendations 
  • Assist with company-wide employee culture /engagement study analysis to provide ongoing recommendations for elevating Spire’s culture and our employee experience
  • Collaborate to develop and field internal ‘pulse’ surveys to gauge employee sentiment on training effectiveness, communication tools, etc., analyzing data and formulating recommendations to teams across the organization

Essential Characteristics and Competencies

  • Ability to combine understanding of market behavior, sociology and psychology with statistical analysis to recommend business plans and improve customer journeys
  • Ability to develop high-level executive summary of recommendations and actionable insights to drive the business forward; must have an understanding of the overall business goals an ability to connect the dots for strategic recommendations

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • None

Required Education (certifications, licenses)

  • Bachelor’s degree in such fields as economics, psychology, sociology, statistics, or other social science related fields

Required knowledge, skill and abilities

  • Three to five years’ experience with qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis methodologies 
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite 
  • Proficiency in research-based tools and software such as SPSS or mTab a plus
  • Proficiency with Tableau a plus 
  • Familiarity with Qualtrics a plus
  • Experience integrating customer research with large amounts of primary and secondary data, both quantitative and qualitative, to develop strategic and actionable recommendations
  • Familiarity with multiple research methodologies (qualitative and quantitative) and understanding of appropriate application of advanced analytics to market research data
  • Strong knowledge and practical, professional application of behavioral science and analytical skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including proficiency in developing PowerPoint presentations
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect to people and work in a team environment
  • Strong listening and problem-solving skills
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to work independently 
  • Knowledge of and experience with behavioral economics preferred
