Spire is seeking an enthusiastic, career minded student or recent graduate to join our operation in Shrewsbury, Missouri. Our paid internship position affords students the opportunity to learn and be mentored. As an Intern, you may complete various projects and perform administrative duties while developing skills related to the assigned department and natural gas industry.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and complete projects based on departmental needs
  • Analyze data to determine effectiveness of programs and assist in identifying areas of opportunity
  • Develop and revise reports and presentations such as PowerPoints and Business Cases, to management
  • Review and complete various types of paperwork, such as absence reports, safety reports, service tickets, weekly manpower reports, etc.
  • Serve as the report application training coordinator
  • Assist in the report development, testing and implementation, as well as understanding and use of enterprise- wide applications
  • Coordinate and oversee all development and testing for reporting applications
  • Work closely with Quality Assurance and Training, communicating system changes, recommending best practices and understanding new functionality
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities:


Education and/or Experience:

  • High school education or equivalent.
  • Must be a currently enrolled rising Junior, Senior or Graduate Student in the Fall of 2019.
  • Minimum overall GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Must have at least 1 year of general work experience.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency required in Word, Excel, and Power Point

Certificates/Licenses: Valid Driver’s License

Work Environment: A mix of normal office conditions, outdoors, exposed to all weather conditions, in construction areas with uneven surfaces and in areas exposed to loud, audible noises.
