Summary

Spire is seeking a Payroll Specialist to work in the St Louis Missouri operation.  This position will be responsible for producing and maintaining payroll and payroll-related records for Spire Union and Non-Union Employees.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Serve as backup to Senior Payroll Specialist and Payroll Lead
  • Review and approve SAID and C&M timesheets that are processed through Maximo, G4 and SAP in order to meet bi-weekly payroll deadlines
  • Regular attendance is considered an essential job function
  • Review and/or purge filing as per the record retention requirements
  • Update departmental methods and procedures as necessary
  • All other duties as assigned
Essential Characteristics and Competencies
  • Three to Five years of experience with payroll systems, including but not limited to ADP EV5 and ADP eTime is required
  • Three to Five Years of experience working with PC applications and spreadsheets, including Excel and Word
Supervisory Responsibilities
Required Education (certifications, licenses)

Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent Payroll experience

Required knowledge, skill and abilities
Physical demands, environment and schedule
  • Shared office environment
  • Some additional hours may periodically be required to perform special projects
  • Some additional hours may periodically be required during the introduction of new payroll features, options, or contracts
  • Some travel may be required to visit Kansas City, Birmingham, Mobile, Wyoming, and other locations quarterly or as needed.
